Sharing seeds and ideas
I am pretty sure those reading this page understand the concept of sharing. For those who don’t, let’s recap.
The word sharing basically means to divide a portion of a particular item with others. These particular items may be physical like food or mental like ideas. For example, I am sharing the ideas of this book/website at no cost to the reader. These website/book thoughts then may be shared almost infinitely with others who care to share further. Here falls the true meaning. As said before in literature, no matter how you slice it, there are always two sides.
Mother Nature also has her way of sharing almost infinitely. From the multiplication of her soils microbial life, to the generational seeds of bolted lettuce plants, she is sharing. Like the marigold flower that gives seed to produce hundreds of new seedlings, so too are ideas shared.
Seeds need a place to grow. Plants for the most part do better in fertile soil, but may also survive under extreme conditions. I often see plants growing in unbelievable places like the cracks of sidewalks. Life does seem to find a way.
Like seeds, ideas prefer a fertile place to grow. Ideas tend to flourish in fertile (receptive) minds. The more receptive, the better chance an idea has a place to grow. Open your mind and let good ideas take root. Variations
Multiple plant variations eventually occur through time. Perhaps different colors, sizes or environmental adaptability requirements are produced with genetic generational consequences.Variations make the plants unique and more enjoyable. Variations are the spice of life.
Variations aren’t exclusive to plants. Sometimes thoughts and ideas inherit slight mutations and variations. Like the old game telephone, ideas change through the eyes and ears of the individual. For those whom aren’t familiar with the telephone game, here are the basics. With a group of people formed in a circle, one person whispers a phrase into the person to the lefts ear. The second person try’s to whisper the same phrase to the person on his or her own lefts ear without letting others hear the spoken phrase. This continues until the phrase goes all the way back around to the originator of the phrase. The phrase almost always is different after it makes its way around. The phrase changes as people comprehend what they are hearing differently. Like this game, spoken or read ideas will most likely change. Hopefully the idea will change for the better.
The Thought of my Ideas Changing
The thought of my gardening ideas changing through the generations of telephone line like processes intrigues me. As I share my knowledge of vegetable growing and other gardening experiences with you the reader, I can’t help but feel pleasure. Perhaps someday my ideas will help put a garden in everyone’s backyard. Perhaps these gardens will produce bigger, stronger and better vegetables than ever seen on the planet. The thought of my given ideas mutating into something so great would leave me with a peaceful sense of accomplishment and a feeling of success. My ultimate gardening wish is to have my ideas morph into ideas that can be taught to my Children’s, Children’s, Children.
